Henric! & The Great Arlington Train Robbery & Massacre of 1915!

It all began at Dusk on Warm Summer Night!
and

Ended at the top of the Hill above the Town Of Arlington in the Basement of a White House!

On April 5, 1915, the first ever Passenger train, entered slowly into the Town of Arlington. Unbeknown to the passengers, in the mail car at the end of the train was a large mysterious safe. Wrapped in canvas strapped in chains and padlocked. It was guarded by four Security Guards carrying rifles and pistols holstered. Sitting in the passenger section were also four other undercover security guards carrying loaded hidden pistols.

Just as the train entered the Northern End of Town the train went dark! Not unusual back in 1915! However! Today was different! As the train rumbled on through town it began to slow! Then came to a dead stop! Dusk turned to darkness! Total dead silence came over everyone on the train! Seconds seemed like minutes! Then it happened! A massive explosion from the back of the train! Panic set in! The Passengers and Security Guards bolted from the train. The passengers headed towards the front of the train. The Security Guards to the back. From the rear of the train entered four hooded men lead by Henric (A German Imigrant Farmer by day and Train Robber by night) ) The four Security Guards in the back and the four from the passenger section who rushed to the back were immediately gunned down. (Massacred) Within minutes the mail train was unhooked and towed back up the tracks by a team of horses.

Once away from the main train the mail car doors were blown open and the mysterious safe was roped and pulled out by the same team of horses and then dragged deep into the dense woods. Under the cover of darkness it was buried deep into the field bordering the Battenkill River surrounded by Spruce Trees and Stone Walls. These were to become the designated markers for later returning to uncover what they had just stolen!

 Over the next year or so Henric and his Gang member’s continued to go about their business as local farmers during the day and Train Robbers at night! Until finally one night they were caught in a trap and an exchange of heavey gunfire and all killed except Henric who escaped. Only to return to Arlington where he immediately retrieved the buried safe and towed it to the top of a hill where he reburied it in a small tomb. Over this tomb he built his new house with a secret passage leading from the basement to the tomb. He marked the year 1915 on the inside wall of the basement foundation. A year later he disappeared! Never to be found or ever heard again! His wife, his sons and family and friends were mystified with his disappearence.

To this very day Henric and the Mystic Mysterious Safe remain a mystery. Only the White House on the Hill with the year 1915 scralled on the inside of the basement wall knows the secret!
